Hello team-

A good read, well worth your time:

MASTERY in one’s career and consciousness growth simply requires that we constantly produce results beyond and out of the ordinary. Mastery is a product of consistently going beyond our limits. For most people, it starts with technical excellence in a chosen field and a commitment to that excellence. If you are willing to commit yourself to excellence, to surround yourself with things that represent this and miracles, your life will change. (When we speak of miracles, we speak of events or experiences in the real world, which are beyond the ordinary).

It’s remarkable how much mediocrity we live with, surrounding ourselves with daily reminders that the average is the acceptable. Our world suffers from terminal normality. Take a moment to assess all of the things around you that promote your being “average.” These are the things that keep you powerless to go beyond a “limit” you arbitrarily set for yourself. The first step to mastery is the removal of everything in your environment that represents mediocrity, removing those things that are limiting. One way is to surround yourself with friends who ask more of you than you do. Didn’t some of your best teachers, coaches, parents, etc.?

Another step on the path to mastery is the removal of resentment toward masters. Develop compassion for yourself so that you can be in the presence of masters and grow from the experience. Rather than comparing yourself and resenting people who have mastery, remain open and receptive; let the experience be like the planting of a seed within you that, with nourishment, will grow into your own individual mastery.

You see, we are all ordinary. But a master, rather than condemning himself for his “ordinariness,” will embrace and use it as a foundation for building the extraordinary. Rather than using it as an excuse for inactivity, he will use it as a vehicle for correcting, which is essential in the process of attaining mastery. You must be able to correct yourself without invalidating or condemning yourself, to accept results and improve upon them. Correct, don’t protect. Correction is essential to power and mastery.

Relocation Tip of the Week

The Organizer                    The neighbor you depend on to let you know about zoning change, the change in the bus route, the school closing or why the street is torn up?  Not only is your neighbor in the know about civic matters, nut in the course of getting in on protest meetings, gets to k now a lot about the neighborhood.  He’s probably heard many times, “Well , I’m moving so I don’t care what they do in this neighborhood anymore!” And there is your cue.

Relocation Tip of the Week:

“Auld Lang Syne”             Dig out those old yearbooks from school and your reunion booklets…there will be those you wonder “whatever happened to?”. Don’t wait to hear from them.  You can find current addresses through mutual friends.  Drop them a note letting them know “whatever happened to you.”  Aside from catching up on old friends, you can pick up a possible referral.

You asked….We listened!  As you know, we recently hosted a series of focus groups designed to help us provide unparalleled customer service to you, our agents, your clients and customers and everyone else we come in contact with through our 3 offices.  One of the suggestions made to us during these groups was about the content, relevance and timeliness of the information we provide at our weekly office meetings.

We are working as a Management Team to ensure we meet these directives.  To assist us in this process, we ask that you attend our weekly office meetings.  This is a valuable time for us to impart information that can affect your business legally.  We also share sales tips, marketing tips, and resources for you and you clients.

We also encourage you to give us feedback!  If you are in the Coeur d’Alene office, please be sure to take our on-line survey (which expires Monday, January 17th at 5:00 pm).  We are always looking for great videos, timely topics, or interesting tidbits so please feel free to share anything you come across of interest to one of the Management Team so we can do the research and share with everyone!

Mark your calendars for 8:30 Tuesday in Washington and 8:30 Wednesday in Coeur d’Alene.  Make the weekly office meeting part of your 2011 Business Plan.

Have a great weekend!  Remember that Monday is the Martin Luther King Holiday.  Banks, the post office, and the courthouses will be closed.

Hello all…

First, a special thank you to Marianne Ahrend, Patti Wolfe, Tom Hormel and Jared McFarland for their hard work in planning Health, Stealth and Wealth.  Walt Frey did an amazing job yesterday.  I have heard great things from those who attended.  The event came off as well as it did in large part due to the hard work these four did in planning the day.  I also want to say thank you to Carrie, Candace, Gwen, Shawn, Ann, John, Mike, Ben, Hal, Sue Myers and Roland for their assistance with breakfast, room set-up and logistics for the day.

During the session Walt mentioned a number of books he recommended – here are the ones I was able to write down in case you missed them:

The Grand Design – Stephen Hawking
The Field – Lynne McTaggart
The Answer – Assaraf & Smith

Before I end… A BIG Congratulations to newly elected SAR President – Marilyn Amato!

Thank you everyone and have a great week!
